Out with the Wisdom Teeth

Yesterday, Bailey had all four wisdom teeth removed.  Of course, she couldn't just enter a dental clinic and have them pulled, no, she had to be put under and have them cut out.  Bailey does not handle any type of medical procedure well.  My guess is, somewhere, stamped in her file is: "Should NOT EVER give birth, at least not in our facility!"  She told me she thought we should skip it as we arrived, but knew it was necessary unless she wanted her molars to be pushed through her gums from below, so we proceeded inside.  When they asked her how her day was going, I thought she might reach over and snuff the life from the "cheery pinhead" behind the counter.  Instead she said, "I don't know, what does it look like to you?"  Her face said it all.  We hardly had time to sit and wait and she was called for her procedure.  Have you ever watched "Dead Man Walking?" That was Bailey as she shuffled off to go under the knife.  About a half hour later, I was called back to sit with her.  The smiling nurse told me that she passed out before they even started the IV to put her under, and was now a little emotional  coming out of the sedatives.  Honestly, I don't think they cared whether anyone sit with her or not...they just wanted me to get her up and out of their hair.  If you know me, my first reaction was to laugh at Bailey and her state.  She was still pretty out of it, in pain (they did cut and pull out 4 teeth), and irritated by the fact that the nurses worked so hard to talk in that "fakey" happy way that they do.  I tried to get pics, but Bailey wasn't to happy about that being done either.  Some of those that I did try to capture (secretively), are x-rated. We were outta the clinic as soon as they said Bailey was good to go.  The good news...they gave her Vicodin for the pain, so the plan is to just keep her doped up until we run out.  Here is a picture of her being cared for by her cat, Artemis this morning:

 

Graduation Day!

Bailey graduated from SCSU this past Sunday, May 8th.  She proudly accepted her diploma with a huge sigh of relief.  Not sure what she is so relieved about...now she has to find a job (hee, hee).  The stands were filled with fans on her special day: Grandpa Jamie (Sue was working), Brittany and Dave, Matthew and his folks, her best friend's family (Shari graduated also), her favorite middle school English teacher, Mrs. Ostendorf (her daughter also graduated), and of course, Tony, Sydney and myself.  What a wonderful day!

After the graduation ceremony we all gathered at Russell's on the Lake and had supper.  Matthew's oldest brother and his family joined us too.  Pictured here is Ava (Michael's oldest-she "TURNED" 5 on this day), Bailey, and Sydney.  We were even lucky enough to have Bailey's former elementary teacher, Mrs. Boekman, serving our table.  It turned out to be an unbelievable day.  Congratulations Bailey!
